Sparkle*Kitty

With unprecedented levels of cuteness, this game has excited all ages (and genders!). Sparkle*Kitty is a very quick and easy game for players of all ages. It’s easy enough for kids to play on their own, and it’s quick enough that other family members can join in for one or more games in-between other holiday duties. And, this plays up to eight players, great for larger families!

Great for ages: 6+

Players: 3-8

Available at: Amazon for ~$27

Ice Cool

Ice Cool is one of our favorite dexterity games for kids. Featuring penguins that wibble-wobble, Ice Cool combines dexterity and a little math action into a fun game for the whole family. Players flick the penguins around trying to catch fish or other players to win the round and score points.

Great for ages: 6+

Players: 2-4

Available at: Amazon for ~$30

Jack’s Friends

Jack’s Friends is one of the best games to play with families! One player will be the giant, and other players will be Jack’s friends who are trying to steal from the giant. Each round, each player will secretly choose their location card. All reveal, and if the giant chooses your location, you are caught and the giant scores, but if you avoid the giant, you collect the item at your location. It’s has a light-hearted mischievous fun to it that kids and adults enjoy!

Great for ages: 6+

Players: 2-6

Available at: Amazon for ~$20

HedBanz

Unlike the other games on this list, this game isn’t new, but it’s an old favorite that deserves a highlight. It’s twenty questions, but with a card on your forehead (attached to the headband). The objects are fairly simple (broom, guitar, boat, bear) so that younger players can play and practice their deductive reasoning. Another game that the whole family can enjoy!

Great for Ages: 7+

Players: 2-6

Available at: Amazon for ~$12

Monopoly Gamer

Most Monopoly games are just a theme layered on the original game (which I loathe!), but Monopoly Gamer is more of a mash-up between Monopoly and Mario Party. Choose from your favorite characters (each has a special unique ability), and race around the board collecting and dropping coins as well as property and fighting bosses. The game is shorter than the original as well, making it great for families.

Great for ages: 8+

Players: 3-5

Available at: Amazon for ~$18

Battle Goats

Battle Goats is one of my favorite filler card games. You’ll draft your army, and arrange them in a grid. As players attack each other, you’ll want to remember where your target is hiding so you can choose the right card to defeat them and become the battle goat champion. This is another game you’ll want to play over again, as players develop an understanding of how to draft their army and position them on the field.

Great for ages: 9+

Players: 2-6

Available at: Amazon for ~$20

The Chameleon

Great for teens and adults, The Chameleon is a social word association game with short rounds. All players but one will know the secret word for the round, but the chameleon, who only knows the available options, will have to blend in while trying to guess the secret word. Players interrogate each other to find the chameleon before the chameleon guesses the word. The lying and deceit aspects of the game make it engaging and social. The game is portable as well, so taking it over to friends houses or on vacation is easy.

Great for ages: 14+

Players: 3-6

Available at: Amazon for ~$16
